It's a sunny day, 2010, C-print, Post-it, Installation
Tan ru Yi finds living things and photographs them as if she is harvesting. The subjects photographed hacve shifed from stray dogs to plastic bags, and now to post-it notes. Gathered densely at a corner of an ordinary archectural space, the florescent post-its emit a starnge light. Yet they look like butterfilies that gather around flowers and ponds, echanting us and leaving an impression that we have seen the existence of a living creature.

まるで何かの収穫のように、タン・ルイは日々、生き物を見つけて写真におさめている。被写体は野良犬から、路上を舞うビニール袋うへとう移り、果しては付箋にも。蛍光色の付箋はへんてつのない建築空間の一角で高い密度をなして異様な光を放つが、花や水場に留まる蝶のようにもみえる。生き物の気配を美しくも軽やかに魅せられたような気がする。
